About

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at McGill University in Montréal.

My research sits at the intersection of international political economy, digital finance, and information politics. My dissertation examines the governance of cryptocurrency and emerging digital financial markets, with a particular focus on how states, firms, and crypto communities negotiate authority, legitimacy, and regulation. More broadly, I am interested in how state capacity, institutional trust, and market infrastructures shape economic and political behaviour in digital economies.

I also work on questions of international relations, disinformation, and strategic communication. My research examines how state actors exploit digital information ecosystems to promote strategic narratives, influence political interpretation, and contest international order, with particular attention to Russian and Chinese foreign influence campaigns. This work is especially concerned with the measurement and detection of misinformation, foreign influence, and inauthentic or synthetic content across digital platforms. Through past experience as a Senior Data Analyst with Global Affairs Canada’s Rapid Response Mechanism, and as Research Team Leader at the Canadian Network on Information and Security, I lead applied research and analytical work on foreign information manipulation targeting Canada and its allies.

My work is forthcoming at journals such as the British Journal of Political Science, the International Journal and received revise-and-resubmit decisions at Reviews of International Political Economy and the Journal of Experimental Political

Methodologically, I combine qualitative, quantitative, and computational approaches. My training includes interviews, field observation, focus groups, surveys, experiments, and causal inference, as well as natural language processing, machine learning, and large-scale text analysis. Across my projects, I am especially interested in how computational methods can help address measurement challenges in political science while remaining attentive to theory, context, and interpretation.

Previously, I completed a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Quebec at Montreal, where my dissertation on the construction of Russia’s revanchist identity and the annexation of Crimea received a mention of excellence from the jury.

Beyond political science, I am fond of data science, astrophysics, and linguistics. Outside of academia, I am an avid fan of cycling and botany, a weekend trumpeter, and sometimes an experimental baker.
